Nayanthara Accuses Dhanush of Sabotaging Her Documentary, Calls Him a ‘Tyrant’

Nayanthara has lashed out at Dhanush, calling him a ‘ tyrant and starting, ‘This speaks so much about your character.

Tamil superstar Nayanthara has issued an open letter to actor and producer Dhanush, claiming that his personal rivalry against her and husband Vignesh Sivan has affected her upcoming wedding documentary ‘Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale’.

She had asked for permission from Dhanush to use visuals from their 2015 movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. However, Dhanush refused to grant her permission and instead sent her a legal notice for using behind the scene visuals from the set of the movie.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Nayanthara also called out ‘vile’ Dhanush for sending her legal notice of ₹10 crore. She said that “a well -established actor” like Dhanush, who had the support and blessings of his father and his brother, needs to understand that cinema “is a fight for survival for people like” her. She called herself “a self-made woman with no links in the industry and someone who had to struggle my way to the position I hold today”.

She also alleged that Dhanush kept declining their request for use of some songs, visual cuts and even photographs from the file, despite multiple requests. The vengeance that you have been festering against the film, my partner and I, doesn’t just affect it but the people who have given their effort and time towards this project. The Netflix documentary about me, my life, my love and marriage includes clips of many of my industry well-wishers who have graciously contributed and memories from multiple films, but sadly does not include the most special and important film, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.

After two long years of battling it out for an NOC and waiting for your approval for our Netflix documentary release, we finally decided to give up, re-edit and settle for the current version since you declined to permit the usage of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan song or visuals cuts, even the photographs to say the least despite multiple requests, ” she wrote.

She further questioned Dhanush’s ‘vengeance’ against her and mentioned that she would give a befitting reply to his legal notice. ” I am in receipt of your legal notice and we shall respond to it befitting through lawful means. You refused to give NOC for the use of elements of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan for our Netflix documentary might be justified by you to the courts from the copyright angle but I wish to remind you that there is a moral side to it, which has to be defended in the court of God, “she wrote
